nonverbal cues

So what non-verbal cues tell you someone is interested? Guys? Dustin? Anyone?

Looks like I'm about to be set up with someone new, stay tuned.

  1. Listed separately--does that make me other than a guy?

Given my relationship history, I am by no means an authority on this matter. Heck, I'm different enough I can't even qualify as any sort of authority on guys--only on myself. [My parents often think they know how I think well, but have made many major errors in this regard. I do give them credit for noticing some of the external signs or actions.]

Some of the ones that get my attention are twirling her hair (especialyl if it's long), good eye contact, dilating pupils (ok, not something realistically controlled without pharmaceuticals), non-defensive pose/stature (especially if leaning in for conversation when the environment *isn't* noisy), mirroring body position...hmmm, more than I thought I would come up with, but still nothing impressive.

Of course, I used to receiving verbal and non-verbal cues tbat are on the defensive or even hostile side, so your mileage may really vary. Since I've been told more than a couple of times that I can seem intimidating--even though those who know me realize I'm usually quite the teddy bear--I'm certainly eager to learn some things to help me get from first conversation to arranging a date.

Any tips from the two of you, since you must know a bit to have much loftier goals than my own. [I'm hoping to top my previous record of dates with three different ladies in one year--or a relationship would be a suitable alternative. I think that goal is reasonable.]

    Dustin
